Will TAPICC Become an Industry Standard for Translation APIs? [Podcast]

GALA TAPICCLSPs, translators, and buyside decision-makers today are all forced to work with an array of technology options and one-off permutations in order to integrate content management systems (CMS) and translation management systems (TMS) effectively.

The result is a situation in which the ability to translate content successfully is based on the effectiveness of the integrationnot on the quality of the translation services themselves.

Today, if there isn’t an existing CMS/TMS integration solution already available to meet your needs, you have to create one. And even if a solution already exists, it’s no guarantee you’ll be able to work within the existing technology’s constraints.

That’s the dilemma that gave rise to the Translation API Class and Cases Initiative (TAPICC). Initially begun by TAUS, TAPICC is managed by the Globalization and Localization Association (GALA), and involves a number of technology companies, LSPs, and other language-industry partners who share a common vision:

To develop an open-source platform that makes it easier and less costly to create APIs for translation.
